Winter time means ice driving! Ryan was again in central Sweden through the winter season working as an instructor for Below Zero Ice Driving where it is often -20! Eight Tuthill-built air cooled Porsches provide a unique challenge for guests with 10km of roads on a frozen lake. Below Zero runs from Kall an area in which factory teams do much of their pre Rally Sweden testing.
In 2003 Ryan contested the British Rally Championship in a S1600 Ford Puma as part of the official Ford Junior Rally Team programme. That actual car is now part of the 'Champion stable,' and is currently being rebuilt ready for action later in the year. The Puma was originally driven by Francois Duval in Monte Carlo, winning JWRC, before seeing BRC service with Guy Wilks and Ryan.
2020 will once again see Ryan mixing rallies with demonstration events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed using both the 555 Subaru and the Ralliart Mitsubishi. Whilst not driving, Ryan can often be found talking about rallying whether that is as a co-commentator at Castle Combe's Rallyday or as part of the team that present the Absolute Rally podcast reviewing rallying from around the globe.
